Lot #3003 – 2009 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake benefiting Samaritan’s Purse
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – April 4, 2022Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, has a longstanding reputation for helping those in need around the world with the sale of charity cars during each of their auctions. Continuing that tradition, Barrett-Jackson will auction two vehicles, one from the George Shinn Collection and one from Mark Pieloch’s American Muscle Car Museum Collection, together as a pair to benefit Samaritan’s Purse and its humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Offered from the world-class George Shinn Collection is a 2009 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake (Lot #3003) that will support Samaritan’s Purse for disaster relief and emergency medical care in Ukraine. This low-mileage 750 horsepower Shelby Super Snake is powered by a supercharged 4-cam 5.4-liter V8 engine backed by a 6-speed manual transmission with a 3.73:1 rear end. Finished in Vapor Silver Metallic paint, the car features a carbon-composite hood with full-width scoops and hold-down pins, a carbon fiber front splitter, mirror covers and rocker panels. Carroll Shelby signed the black interior of this Super Snake, which is No. 309 built in 2009.
Lot #3003.1 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Indy Pace Car
The matching-numbers Official Indy Pace Car 1986 Chevrolet Corvette convertible (Lot #3003.1) also benefiting Samaritan’s Purse is offered from the renowned American Muscle Car Museum out of Melbourne, Fla. It is one of 735 built and is powered by a tuned-port fuel-injected 350/235hp paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission with only 9,325 actual miles. Finished in yellow with a graphite interior and a black convertible top, it is the first year with anti-lock brakes. Documentation with the vehicle also includes the Window Sticker and Build Sheet.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease and famine. Through their international crisis response efforts, Samaritan’s Purse has been on the ground in Ukraine providing medical care, food, water and non-food items such as blankets and hygiene kits for those in need. Most recently, on March 23, a fifth Samaritan’s Purse airlift departed carrying more than 19 tons of relief, including medical supplies for area hospitals as they work to strengthen the logistics and supply chain for the suffering medical system in Ukraine.
