Carroll Shelby’s grandson, Aaron Shelby, rode up on the block in a 1965 AC Cobra 289 Roadster, CSX 2439, which sold for $907,500.
It’s no secret Carroll Shelby loved horsepower. Performance was his business, and in the pursuit of performance, the team at Shelby American built some truly remarkable machines – some fine examples of which crossed the block at the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction. As ardent admirers of Shelby’s work, the team at Barrett-Jackson is always delighted to see examples of his legacy in some of the most collectible and sought-after classic and modern cars. Stopping the presses and wowing the crowd on Friday at the Las Vegas Auction was a 1965 AC Cobra (CSX 2439). With Carroll Shelby’s grandson Aaron Shelby riding shotgun, the ’65 Cobra brought the house down, selling for an incredible $907,500. It wasn’t the only car with the Shelby pedigree to impress at the event – check out the gallery of best-selling Shelbys at the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction below.
