Among the vehicles selling for charity at the Las Vegas Auction is this 2021 Ford Bronco 4-Door Badlands Raiders Editions (Lot #3002).
Having been founded by the two very community-minded families of Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson, Barrett-Jackson has had charity woven into the fabric of the company from the very beginning. Even the “Fiesta de los Autos Elegantes” – a car show in the late 1960s that was the precursor to what became the Barrett-Jackson auctions – was created by the two men to raise funds for the local library and arts center in their hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona.
To date, more than $133 million has been raised for over 175 worthy organizations – large and small, local and national – through the sale of these very special vehicles. And because Barrett-Jackson waives all fees associated with these charitable sales, every penny of the purchase price goes directly to the charities designated by the donors of the vehicles.
Barrett-Jackson’s charitable tradition will continue at the 2021 Las Vegas Auction, June 17-19 at the brand-new West Hall of the city’s convention center. Among the “cars for a cause” headed to the auction block will be a 2021 Ford Bronco 4-Door (Lot #3002) – the very first Badlands Raiders Edition produced. This example of the much-acclaimed new generation of the popular SUV will be wrapped in Las Vegas Raiders regalia, and the sale will benefit both the Las Vegas-based Grant A Gift Autism Foundation as well as the Raiders Foundation. The vehicle, which will come with some Raiders goodies as well, is already being promoted by the Raiders organization with the humorous tagline, “It takes a Raider to tame a Bronco.”
The Bronco, powered by a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, is fully kitted out to tackle anything on or off the road. It has front stabilizer bar disconnect for increased articulation, electronic-locking front and rear axles, advanced 4×4 with automatic on-demand engagement, removable doors and top, LED signature lighting, tow hooks and a heavy-duty modular front bumper. Also equipped with four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and a wheel-lock kit, this Bronco also features the Sasquatch Package, consisting of 35-inch tires with 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, front- and rear-locking differentials, Bilstein shocks, 4.7 final drive ratio and high-clearance fender flares.
Lot #3003 – 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Hertz/Hendrick Motorsports Edition
The generous team at Hendrick Motorsports has donated a very special Hertz/Hendrick Motorsports Edition ZL1 Camaro (Lot #3003), the very first of only 24 commissioned, to benefit the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation (JAJF), a national nonprofit that treats children facing the looming loss of their young Mom or Dad to cancer to “WOW! Experiences” – a prescribed timeout as part of treatment protocol together as a family away from their late-stage cancer to create positive, cherished, indispensable memories … while they can.
The story behind this Camaro is an interesting one. In 2018, Hertz joined forces with Hendrick Motorsports – now the winningest team in NASCAR Cup Series history – to sponsor the #24 Hendrick Motorsports ZL1 Camaro race car, driven by NASCAR Cup series driver William Byron, who just became the youngest driver to have more than 10 consecutive Top 10 finishes, surpassing NASCAR great Jeff Gordon. The on-track partnership with Hendrick Motorsports continued and eventually evolved into the creation of this custom Camaro available for the street. This Camaro ZL1 ‒ the most powerful version ever offered ‒ is truly special, being production #001 and having only 444 miles. Starting with the heart of the vehicle, the stock supercharger has been upgraded to a Callaway GenThree Supercharger and Callaway TrippleCooled Intercooler System, providing 750 horsepower. A special appearance package features Hertz Yellow graphics with the HMS #24 logo inside and out. There’s even a dash plaque with team owner Rick Hendrick’s signature stating this is car #1 of 24.
Lot #3000 – 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat AWD
Heading to the auction block to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Detroit is a 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat AWD (Lot #3000) – a muscle car for people with families! The SUV is one of only 3,000 produced for the 2021 model year only. This Durango Hellcat is powered by the well-established supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine delivering 710hp and 645 ft/lbs of torque. A TorqueFlite 8HP95 8-speed automatic transmission sends power
